• Shot put: Athletes propel a heavy metal sphere with one hand from a circular cage. Strength and technique are crucial for maximizing distance.
• Discus: A round, flat object is thrown like a frisbee from a circular cage. Athletes generate power through rotation and release the discus at the optimal angle.
• Javelin: A slender spear-like object is hurled overarm. Speed, coordination, and precision are essential for achieving long distances.
• Hammer throw: A metal ball attached to a wire handle is swung in a circular motion before being released. Strength, timing, and technique are vital for successful throws.
