India's semiconductor industry is entering a major phase of growth, with the domestic market projected to reach US$200 billion by 2035, up from approximately US$64 billion in 2026, according to the EY–IESA 2026 report. As investments in chip design, semiconductor manufacturing and advanced electronics expand, specialised engineering expertise is becoming increasingly important. Woxsen University's four-year B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (VLSI Design & Technology) program combines a strong foundation in electronics and communication engineering with specialised learning in semiconductor technologies, integrated circuit design and VLSI systems.
The curriculum builds on core electronics and communication engineering principles, progressing into Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI), a technology that enables millions of transistors to be integrated onto a single semiconductor chip. . Students gain knowledge about the complete chip development process, from semiconductor devices and integrated circuit design to fabrication, testing and verification. Supported by specialised laboratories, progressive engineering projects and industry internships, the program develops practical competencies in circuit design, simulation, electronic system development and engineering problem-solving.
Aligned with the evolving requirements of the semiconductor and electronics industries, the program prepares graduates to pursue careers in semiconductor design, chip development, VLSI testing and verification, embedded systems, electronics manufacturing and communication technologies.
