Specialization: Game Design
Session Starts – August 2027
Duration – 4 Years
Residential Degree Program
AY 2027 UG Scholar's Round Open
India's gaming industry is rapidly evolving into a major market for interactive entertainment, creating new opportunities for game designers, developers and digital creators. Hyderabad has emerged as one of India's leading gaming and animation hubs, with a growing ecosystem of game development studios, technology companies and creative enterprises. Against this industry backdrop, Woxsen University's four-year B.Des (Hons.) Game Design program prepares students to participate in the expanding Indian and global gaming industry.
The program follows a studio-led learning approach that takes students through the complete game creation process, from identifying player needs and developing original concepts to designing, prototyping, testing and refining interactive experiences. Students learn to combine creative thinking with technical problem-solving, understand player behaviour, build engaging gameplay experiences and translate their ideas into functional games.
Through individual and team-based projects, students develop practical skills in game design, programming, visual development and production. They learn to turn creative ideas into playable games, work collaboratively, solve technical challenges and manage the game development process. Industry interactions and hands-on projects provide exposure to professional game studios and industry practices.
By graduation, students will be equipped to create original, playable game titles from concept to completion, spanning 2D and 3D games, mobile and PC games, multiplayer experiences, story-driven games and immersive AR/VR worlds. With exposure to AAA game development practices and large-scale game production workflows, graduates will be prepared to contribute to professional gaming studios or develop and launch their own independent game titles.
