Woxsen University B.Arch Students Explore Sustainable Architecture at CII–Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, Hyderabad

Oct 02, 2026

Learning Sustainability Beyond the Classroom

As part of the ESS-II/III course and the ERS initiative, B.Arch Year II and III students from the School of Architecture & Planning, Woxsen University, visited the CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, Hyderabad, one of India's pioneering LEED Platinum-rated green buildings. The visit was conducted under the guidance of SOAP faculty members Prof. Sheetal Tiwari, Prof. Sushant Jaganade, and Prof. Rajeshwar Rao.

The visit gave students a first-hand look at how passive design, energy-efficient systems, renewable energy, water conservation, and sustainable materials come together in a real, functioning building. Concepts often confined to theory, daylighting, thermal comfort, HVAC efficiency, and water reuse, became visible and tangible.

Beyond the technical learning, the visit reinforced an important idea: sustainable design is a responsibility architects carry from the very first design decision.

Grateful to CII-Godrej GBC for hosting our students, and proud of the curiosity and engagement they brought to the visit.
