Design is most meaningful when it reflects the people it is created for.
At the IKEA Kreativ Challenge in Hyderabad, Akshitha Chikoti approached the brief by designing a living room for herself—an intentional, electronics-free space centered around creativity, comfort, and self-expression.
From a reading nook and painting corner to natural elements and thoughtful décor, her concept explored how spaces can serve as personal sanctuaries while reflecting individual lifestyles, emotions, and aspirations.
The experience reinforced an important design principle: every successful space begins with understanding the user and their story.
