The M.Des Product Design Innovation cohort from the School of Arts & Design, Woxsen University, visited Design Democracy, Hyderabad, on 19 September.
The visit gave students a close look at what it takes to design for a premium, discerning audience, where every detail of material, finish and experience matters. Conversations with manufacturers, suppliers, architects and designers added a range of perspectives on how a product moves from idea to market.
Design Democracy is one of India’s leading design festivals, bringing together furniture, lighting, décor, art and craft brands alongside independent studios and makers under one roof. It serves as a meeting point for the design community, where creators, industry and buyers connect and where emerging trends in Indian design are showcased.
For our students, it was a chance to see how user-centric thinking extends beyond products into the spaces and experiences people live with every day.
