Woxsen University successfully held its first-ever Woxsen Litfest 2024! The event welcomed esteemed guests, including Mr. MJ Akbar, former Minister of State for External Affairs of India and a renowned journalist and author, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished speakers included Ms. Devika Chopra, News Editor and Anchor at NewsX, and Ms. Shilpa Suraj, a prominent Fiction Writer.
Woxsen students seized the opportunity to learn from the accomplished authors and journalists. The guests offered valuable insights into writing fiction, non-fiction, and various literary forms. Students also enjoyed personalized interactions with the guests, gaining motivation and inspiration for their own creative pursuits.
The program commenced with welcome addresses from Dr.Kakoli Sen, Dean of the School of Business,Woxsen University and Mr. Chahat Mishra, Head of International Relations and Strategic Development at Woxsen University.
Mr. MJ Akbar then delivered a captivating keynote address. The event continued with guest speaker presentations.
Ms. Devika Chopra's speech explored the complexities of "Fake News & Fiction: Exploring the Blurred Lines," while Ms. Shilpa Suraj discussed "Diversity and Inclusion in Literature: Amplifying Voices." Both talks were followed by engaging Q&A sessions led by Woxsen student moderators.
The festival concluded with a valedictory address by Dr. Satya Prasad, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Humanities at Woxsen University. This inaugural Literature Festival provided a valuable platform for intellectual discourse and creative inspiration for Woxsen students and the wider community.
