Genesis 2026: A Beginning Beyond the Classroom
The School of Architecture & Planning, Woxsen University concluded Genesis, B.Arch. Orientation 2026, welcoming the new B.Arch. Batch 2026-2031 into their architectural journey.
Designed as an introduction to architecture, design, and the Woxsen community, the orientation brought together university leadership, architects, educators, and creative experts through a series of talks, workshops, and interactions, introducing students to the academic culture, opportunities, and learning environment at Woxsen.
A highlight of the programme was the keynote by Ar. Pavan Suryadevara, Principal Architect & Founder, Clark Lloyd Architects, who shared insights from professional practice and encouraged students to approach architecture with curiosity and purpose. International Guest Speaker Dr. Dak Kopec, Ph.D., Professor, School of Architecture, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, brought a global perspective to architectural education and the evolving role of architects and designers.
The orientation also included two creative sessions: Architecture, The Ultimate Canvas, a Visual Arts Workshop with Dr. K. Prem Kumar, Former Head of the Department of Architecture, NIT Tiruchirappalli, and Beyond Buildings, Where Institutions Become Experiences, a talk by Ar. Murali Murugan, Chief Architect, Murali Architects, Chennai, on how architecture shapes identity and experience beyond the physical building.
Students also took part in ice-breaking activities, campus engagement sessions, faculty interactions, and introductory academic sessions, helping them connect with their peers and begin understanding the culture of the School.
To the B.Arch. Batch 2026-2031, welcome to the School of Architecture & Planning. The journey has begun.
