Leadership Series: What Does the Corporate World Really Expect?
Academic knowledge builds the foundation, but moving into the corporate world also means understanding your strengths, adapting to change, and turning what you know into professional value.
As part of Woxsen University's Leadership Series, students spoke with Mr. Vikas Mehta, a marketing and business professional with nearly four decades of experience across global markets, including Unilever, HSBC, Nestlé, Walmart, and Oman Air.
Mr. Mehta shared his perspective on corporate expectations, personal strengths, adaptability, communication, sales and marketing, and the realities of the professional world. The conversation left students with one question to reflect on: what do I bring to the workplace beyond my degree?
Through initiatives like the Leadership Series, the Centre of Talent Development (COTD) gives students the chance to engage with experienced professionals and reflect on the skills they need for the move from campus to corporate life.
