From 12th to 20th January 2026 , our 4th Semester Architecture students embarked on an immersive study tour across Jaipur, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur , engaging directly with the layered urbanism of Rajasthan’s historic cities.
The tour focused on urban form analysis and documentation, with particular emphasis on understanding public, semi-public, and private realms, street networks, built typologies, and the relationship between architecture, climate, and culture. Through on-site documentation, measured drawings, sketches, and discussions, students explored how historic settlements continue to function as living urban systems.
A highlight of the tour was the Blue City street documentation in Jodhpur , where students worked in focused groups to study streets, thresholds, materials, climate responsiveness, and socio-cultural life at the neighborhood scale.
This academic journey offered invaluable experiential learning—bridging theory with practice, and reinforcing the importance of context-sensitive design and urban thinking.
