“ Starting university marked a transformative chapter in my life. As an outstation student, I faced the challenge of being away from home and navigating a unique and demanding fashion design course. From a young age, I have been passionate about fashion, channeling my creative and innovative ideas through drawing and design. This career path required me to step out of her comfort zone, particularly in terms of communication and teamwork. Fortunately, life at Woxsen University has helped me grow in these areas, fostering valuable connections with both peers and faculty. 

While pursuing her degree, I also excelled in extracurricular activities such as sports and writing. A sporty individual since high school, I took a break from athletics but have now enthusiastically returned to representing the university in various sports. Serving as the President of the fashion club has enriched my understanding of contemporary fashion dynamics. Additionally, I have discovered new interests in fields like product design and photography, realizing my potential extends beyond fashion alone.”

  • Founder, Capybara Studios (Focuses on action figures and animated films by combining Indian traditional toys with modern storytelling) 
  • Awarded with "Best Animated Short Film" award at the Indo-French Film Festival and with “Certificate of Excellence” at the 14th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival for the movie “BAND” (First ever Indian film to feature Kondapalli toys as its stars) 
  • Curated Kondapalli toy versions of characters from the move Kalki 2898 AD and created a video in collaboration with Vyjayanthi Movies collaborative release (Garnered 1.8 million Views) 

"Product Design has given me the right base for all my aspirations.  While I love creating innovative products, my heart also lies in India's rich heritage of arts and crafts. My passion for Kondapalli toys led me on a unique journey to bring them to life on screen. It's been an incredible experience, and I can't wait to share my storytelling through the lens of various Indian toy crafts with a global audience. My dream is to bring these traditional toys to OTT platforms and introduce the world to their magic."

" Thrilled to share the incredible journey of our participation in the IIT Mood Indigo Vogue fashion competition where we proudly clinched the! This incredible journey was a collective effort involving 4 visionary designers. Together, we transformed dreams into reality, showcasing creativity, innovation, and sheer dedication on the runway. Heartfelt thanks to the dedicated faculties of the Fashion Department of Woxsen University for their unwavering support throughout this amazing endeavor! Sidhartha Pathi

  • Contributed to the ongoing ‘my UDAAN’ project at IIT, Hyderabad along with Sathwik Reddy.  myUDAAN is an application that connects users to mobility products and services during a 2-month summer internship. 

“This project was a part of a two-month summer internship at IIT, Hyderabad. During this phase, Sathwik and I played a crucial role in designing VGO, an ergonomic and battery-powered clip-on. VGO is an external attachment that transforms a wheelchair into a safe electric three-wheeler.

VGO is one of the most significant inventions in the motorized wheelchair category, enhancing both utility and mobility. This innovation also addresses environmental responsibility as it’s fully electric and can be charged at dedicated docking stations. The wheelchair is ergonomically designed and compact enough to allow users to commute within shopping malls, airports, metros, and other public spaces. With the finishing touches underway, VGO is set to launch soon.I would like to thank Woxsen University for providing this valuable opportunity and for their continuous support throughout this project.”

" Being an exchange student brought excitement for new experiences and meeting people. It pushed me to explore new boundaries, culture, design and connect with new and diverse groups.This journey has been nothing short of a transformative experience, and I want to express my deepest appreciation to Woxsen University for providing me with such an opportunity and Ajman University for the warmth and hospitality that they surrounded me with since the day I arrived.

Ajman with its rich culture has allowed me to seamlessly integrate into the daily life here and left an indelible mark on my heart. It has been a kaleidoscope of experiences, each day bringing new lessons, learning more about the diverse cultures, and new friendships. This place gave me an insight into the rich Emirati culture and the local traditions of the UAE, which hide behind As my time as an exchange student here in Ajman continues, I can't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the friendship forged, the knowledge gained, the memories made, and many more to make.   • Participated in GIP at Nanyang Technological University Singapore. 

"I was fortunate to be a part of the GIP at Nanyang Technological University Singapore.  The opportunity to meet with outstanding professors was invaluable. Every day, their perspectives and expertise converged, leaving a lasting impression on my understanding of design. My significant takeaways included understanding Singapore's extraordinary progress from Col. Sukh Chopra, and an insightful look into "Design History" conducted by Professor Peer Sathikh, which rounded off the day. Under the direction of Teo Kah Min, we were introduced to a hands-on session investigating the synergy between AI and Design. Lisa W. Winstanley stressed the importance of critical thinking and user-centered design in the creative process. Vijay Sethi took us on a journey to reveal the subtle effects that influence decision-making in our digital age, making us more conscious of the human side in this process and exploring the transformative impact of Generative Design with Kapilan Naidu."

  • Created the World's longest mandala artwork stretching 101 feet and adorned with intricate Tamil alphabets. The work is recognised by India Book of Records and Kalams World Records. 

“My passion for art, crafts, and design led me to create the world's longest mandala artwork—101 feet featuring Tamil alphabets—recognized by the India Book of Records. Woxsen has provided invaluable experiences, including industrial visits like my recent trip to Assam and Nagaland, where I explored stunning handicrafts and attended the Hornbill Festival. This journey has been transformative, and I'm excited for what’s next!"

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and hard work of every member of our team. From my dual nominations for Best Director and Best Cinematographer to VenuDharshan's nomination for Best Actor, Mythreya's for Best Editor, and Premchandh's for Best Negative Role, each individual has contributed their unique talents to craft a compelling narrative. I'm especially grateful to Woxsen for providing me with the platform and support to pursue my filmmaking passion. Global Logo Competition

Woxsen Design Students Named Finalists in Global Logo Design Competition

Six students from the School of Art & Design at Woxsen University have been selected as finalists in the Indigenous Youth Storytellers Circle logo design competition, organized by the Visual Storytelling Center in collaboration with Terralingua, a Canadian NGO. The competition was part of the official projects supporting the UN’s International Year of Indigenous Languages, celebrating design that represents indigenous storytelling and cultural identity.

The finalists include Jibi Pullan Aleta, Caralene Sebastian, Mir Inayat Ali Khan, Sushanthika K, Tejesh Kumar Reddy Bandreddy, and Vaishvik Sunil Kalva, all students from the School of Art & Design. Their work reflects creativity, cultural sensitivity, and the power of visual storytelling in communicating meaningful global narratives.

This achievement highlights the talent of Woxsen’s design students and the university’s commitment to fostering creative excellence through real-world, globally relevant design initiatives.

Mahindra University’s Battle of the Bands

Industrial Design

Woxsen Student Band Secures Runner-Up at Mahindra University’s Battle of the Bands

Rajendra Meshram Mudhur, an Industrial Design student from the 2023 batch at Woxsen University’s School of Art & Design, along with his band Octaves, secured the runner-up position at Mahindra University’s annual Battle of the Bands competition.

Competing against nearly ten highly talented teams in the music segment, the band delivered a powerful performance that impressed both the judges and the audience. Their stage presence, musical synergy, and strong performance placed them among the top performers of the competition.

This achievement highlights the diverse talents of Woxsen students, showcasing excellence not only in design and academics but also in creative and performing arts.

Woxsen Students Honoured at Bank of Baroda Achievers Awards 2024

Three students from Woxsen University’s School of Art & Design have been recognised at the Bank of Baroda Achievers Awards 2024, celebrating their outstanding accomplishments across academics, sports, and overall excellence.

Bushra Fathima (Fashion, 2021–25) received the award for Academic Excellence, Dhoni Mudrakola (Interior, 2022–26) was honoured in the Sports category, and Madhur Meshram (Foundation, 2023–27) was recognised for All-round Achievement.

Each awardee received a prize of ₹31,000, acknowledging their dedication and achievements. This recognition reflects the diverse talents of students at Woxsen University and highlights the institution’s commitment to nurturing excellence across multiple disciplines.

“Mini Motion” Film Fest

Foundation Design

Woxsen Foundation Students Secure 2nd Place at “Mini Motion” Film Fest

Students from the Foundation Department at Woxsen University’s School of Art & Design achieved recognition at the “Mini Motion” Fest, a short film competition held during the annual management festival Winnow at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

Deekshath B and Venudharshan secured 2nd place in the competition, which featured around 40 short film screenings from participants across institutions. Their creative storytelling and filmmaking skills stood out among the competing entries, earning them a cash prize of ₹5,000.

This achievement highlights the growing creative talent within Woxsen’s Foundation programme and reflects the university’s commitment to encouraging students to explore and showcase their abilities across diverse creative platforms.

Shree Lakshmy Karthikeyan Menon, M Monika Rao Chillamcherla, and Sheshirekha earned this recognition for their innovative design approach and creative concepts, placing them among the top contenders at the national level.

Cultural Fashion Showcase

Woxsen Fashion Design Students Win Prize for Cultural Fashion Showcase

Students from the Fashion Design programme (FD 2021–25) at Woxsen University’s School of Art & Design received recognition and a prize for their innovative fashion showcase that blended cultural storytelling with experimental design.

The team, including Esha, Amisha, and Sobhika, presented a striking collection that explored the use of resin to create armored pieces, along with fine embellishments and drapery to achieve culturally inspired looks. They also incorporated elements from the wood and metal workshops to design distinctive headgear that captured the attention of the judges and audience.

The showcase featured nine models who brought the designs to life on stage, highlighting the students’ creativity, craftsmanship, and collaborative effort. Their work stood out for its bold visual expression and thoughtful interpretation of cultural aesthetics, earning them recognition and a prize at the competition.

This achievement reflects the School of Art & Design’s focus on hands-on learning, experimentation with materials, and encouraging students to push creative boundaries in fashion design.

Yanko Design

Woxsen Student’s Design Thesis Featured on Yanko Design

Divyanshu Garg, an Interior Design student from the 2019 batch at Woxsen University’s School of Art & Design, achieved international recognition with his thesis titled “Office Furniture Concept Was Made with Accessibility Front and Centre” being featured on Yanko Design, a globally renowned platform that showcases innovative contemporary design across fields such as industrial design, technology, architecture, interiors, and fashion.

Divyanshu’s work focuses on creating accessible office furniture concepts that prioritise inclusivity and functionality through thoughtful design. His project reflects a strong blend of research, innovation, and user-centric design thinking.

The thesis was guided by Ar. Vindhya Siddardha, Programme Director of Interior Design, with mentorship from Rajdeep Routh from the School of Architecture and Planning and Santosh Kocherlakota, Programme Director of Industrial Design. The achievement highlights the collaborative and interdisciplinary learning environment at Woxsen University, where students are encouraged to explore impactful and globally relevant design solutions.

Woxsen Student Gauravi Reddy Receives Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar

Gauravi Reddy, a student of B.Des (Hons.) at Woxsen University’s School of Art & Design, was honoured with the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for her outstanding contribution to promoting the Indian classical dance form Kuchipudi.

Gauravi has performed in over 315 programmes and has earned 7 world records along with 11 titles and awards for her excellence in classical dance. Her dedication to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of India through Kuchipudi has earned her national recognition at a young age.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, presented annually by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, is the highest civilian honour awarded to citizens of India under the age of 18. Gauravi’s achievement highlights the diverse talents of Woxsen students and reflects the university’s encouragement of excellence across academics, arts, and culture.
