Concept Note
India, with its diverse geography and strategic location in South Asia, faces an array of security challenges. Given the country's strategic geographical location and its complex socio-political landscape, these challenges encompass traditional military threats, cyber threats, maritime security, and internal insurgencies. The border tensions with neighboring countries, internal insurgencies, and the constant rising tide of global terrorism underline the importance of a well-equipped and responsive defense sector. The dynamic security environment necessitates a robust and adaptive defense sector to safeguard national interests and ensure regional stability.
Therefore, India's defense sector play a pivotal role in addressing a diverse array of security challenges, which are critical to ensuring national sovereignty and regional stability. At the forefront is the modernization of the armed forces. The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force are in urgent need to upgrade their technology and equipment to stay ahead of potential adversaries. This involves the acquisition of advanced fighter jets, submarines, missile systems, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies into existing platforms. The defense sector focus on modernization ensures that India's military capabilities are robust enough to deter conventional threats and adept at handling asymmetric warfare and emerging security issues.
Hence, understanding and addressing these security challenges is critical for India's sovereignty and development and the role of defence sector is instrumental in addressing those broad spectrums of security challenges. Through modernization, indigenization, cyber and space security enhancements, and robust intelligence and surveillance operations, the sector ensures national security. As India continues to navigate an increasingly complex security environment, a dynamic and resilient defence sector remains crucial for safeguarding national interests and maintaining regional stability. Thus, the proposed theme of the conference navigates through such multiple aspects of defense and security phenomenon which are crucial towards identifying, handling and resolving India’s security challenges.
Objectives:
The objective of the conference is to comprehensively analyze and understand the multifaceted security threats facing India and to evaluate how the defense sector is poised to tackle these challenges. This conference aims to bring different perspectives on the current capabilities and limitations of India's defense sector, moreover it also seeks to provide a clear picture of how well-prepared the sector is to address these threats. Furthermore, it aims to derive an outcome that could bolster the defense sector's effectiveness, including modernization efforts, indigenization initiatives, advancements in cyber and space capabilities, and improvements in intelligence and surveillance systems. Additionally, the conference intends to explore the role of international cooperation and strategic partnerships in strengthening India's defense posture.
Outcome:
The proposed conference aims to inform policymakers, defence officials, and stakeholders about the current state of India's defence sector and the necessary steps to strengthen it further. By providing a comprehensive analysis and actionable recommendations, the proposed theme seeks to contribute to the formulation of effective defence policies and strategies, ensuring that India's defence sector remains resilient and capable of addressing both current and future security challenges. This conference will serve as a valuable resource for enhancing national security and maintaining regional stability, reinforcing India's position as a key player in the
global security landscape.
Call for Papers/ Abstracts
Abstracts of original research (word limit- 250) are invited on the below mentioned sub-themes, but are not limited to:
- India and security architecture
- India and external security threats
- India and domestic security threats
- India and security challenges
- India and Defense sector role
- Defense sector as pillar of the economy growth
Submission Guidelines
Please submit your abstract within 250 words and with 5 to 6 keywords. Full paper (within 6000-8000 words, including images, graphs, result tables and references) to be submitted once abstract acceptance status is updated to you via email. Your article should follow the mentioned guidelines:
- Title page comprising the following- Abstract Title, Sub-theme Title, Author’s & Co-author’s Names, Designation & Institutional Affiliation, Correspondence Details
- Files should be either in PDF or Microsoft Word format
- Use Times New Roman, 12-Font, 1.5 line spacing, with ‘Justify’ alignment
- Only Titles, Sub-titles and Headings to be in Bold
- Adhere to the APA style guide for referencing
- Incomplete paper, and plagiarised work will not ` be considered for final review
