The School of Arts and Design, Woxsen University, in collaboration with Professor Dr. Ambassador Tal Edgars, expert at UNESCO Inclusive Policy lab and Group Executive Chairman at GBSH Consult Group has initiated the South-South Collaboration (SSC) between educational institutions in India and Africa.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative aims to discuss, adopt and reinvent principles of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the Global South with expert guidance and everyday lived experiences of those in Higher Education Institutions (HEI).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Call for speakers and steering committee member:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Phase I of the South-South Collaboration invites scholars (anthropology, economics, sociology, design, STEM, etc.), policy experts, financial experts, business professionals, among others to nominate themselves for serving on the SSC\u2019s influential steering committee and as speakers in the roundtable series planned for the first half of 2024.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The roundtable series will focus on sharing case studies, success stories, scholarly analysis of how the HEIs are shaping sustainability practices for a regenerative future, and on the industrial commitment to ESG and SDG. These accounts will shed light on the requirements for SDG and ESG initiatives in the HEI and the industrial world in India and Africa. We invite works on how HEI, governmental, non-governmental and corporate institutions are addressing pollution, hunger, malnutrition in communities across these two countries.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on the lessons learnt from the roundtable discussions, the steering committee will meet quarterly to discuss and plan phase II of the South-South Collaboration on capacity building programs in mid-ranked HEIs in India and Africa, facilitated by Woxsen SOAD.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
